This position is at the Salt Lake City International Airport Role Purpose The GSE Lead Mechanic is Responsible for leading and directing the activities of other GSE mechanics. Also does the work of a mechanic as required. What you will be doing Acts as working lead person of GSE work group Comply with the Location’s attendance/tardiness standards Assigns work, monitors progress, and assesses results. Instructs assigned employees as required. Performs the same or similar work as that assigned to the group being led Assists supervisor or trainer in training new employees. Reviews work orders of incoming ground equipment to determine if manpower is available to accomplish assigned maintenance. Reports daily to supervisor detailing status of work orders, parts requirements, manpower requirements and any other matters pertaining to the timely delivery of the ground equipment in work. Checks tools and equipment for unsafe conditions and takes appropriate action to remedy any such conditions. Checks ground equipment daily and repair as needed. Dismantles, repairs, paints, fabricates and erects machinery, mechanical devices, and automotive equipment. May be required to give on-the-job training and instruction to other employees. Able to meet the Station’s attendance standard Safety, Security, Wellbeing and Compliance: You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. Requirements

  • Vocational/ Specialized Training.
  • Experience operating diagnostic equipment.
  • 5 years experience in automotive/ mechanical work.
  • Requires a Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from a recognized program, preferred.
