Our Newest Opportunity: Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for day to day coaching, development and accountability of an assigned team of Business Development Executives (BDEs) and Business Development Associates (BDAs), while maintaining and meeting an individual production goal. The Sales Manager is responsible for developing new business opportunities and closing sales to achieve established annual sales goals. This includes leading assigned members of the team in developing and closing new business opportunities, coaching Business Development Executives through the sales process, attending prospect meetings, as well as monitoring and reporting the team’s activity. The Sales Manager is also responsible for performing sales, management and administrative tasks, such as maintaining individual prospecting activity and performance, recruiting and training BDEs and BDAs to identify and cultivate leads, as well as effectively close business.

  • Maintain responsibility for an individual production goal but identifying, prospecting and closing new business via referrals, networking sources, and organic prospect meetings
  • Responsible for team’s proportionate contribution to organization’s 15% new business goal annually
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of our market, our competitors, and other economic indicators to steer our business development team with forward-thinking vision
  • Responsible for forecasting opportunities and penetrating new business on a daily basis
  • Establish, maintain, grow, and leverage relationships with buyers
  • Builds rapport and business relationships quickly and effectively via face-to-face and phone, social media, blogs and other thought leadership opportunities
  • Work with senior management team to set and review sales and activity goals monthly
  • Ensure accurate reporting on lead generation and sales efforts, including pulling data and metrics to provide detailed information about pipeline status
  • Manages sales pipeline and sales activities via company database (D365)
  • Attends association events and meetings based on targeted verticals
  • Seeks opportunities for speaking engagements with select association verticals
  • Participates in continued learning and training for the industry and position.
  • Manage, coach and lead a team of Business Development Executives and Business Development Associates
  • Become a mentor to assigned sales team and nurture relationships with each member in order to help them achieve their goals
  • Lead team meetings weekly to motivate team members and facilitate strategic planning for targeted opportunities
  • Assists teams in strategically planning and executing prospect meetings.
  • Work to actively recruit new members to the team.
  • Work with business development team to improve lead qualification.
  • Work with team and senior management to devise and implement innovative go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to clearly articulate the company’s vision, strategy and value proposition to colleagues and customers

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Management experience preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience with lead and sales generation, preferred
  • 7+ years required
  • 5+ years’ sales experience in employee benefits, insurance, brokerage, or related field, required
  • Knowledge of group health, ancillary and benefits administration products, required
  • An earned and maintained Georgia Accident, Sickness and Life License is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contact management tools, required
  • Applicable professional designations (RHU, REBC, etc.), preferred.
