Position Summary Under the supervision of the Groups Director, this role will support logistics for user groups and summer camp. Responsibilities include: moving, setting up, and breaking down tables, chairs, and cots; filling and maintaining water jugs throughout camp; assisting with minor maintenance duties, such as clogged toilets. This position will regularly interact with guests and should view customer service as a major part of the job.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Must possess a variety of skills including good communication, flexibility, public relations, commercial kitchen organization, operation, inventory control, and equipment management
  • Must display excellent customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of ages, ethnic groups, and backgrounds
  • Must always be respectful and professional
  • Willingness to learn conflict mediation and other skills
  • YMCA approved First Aid and CPR certification (may complete upon hire)

Responsibilities

  • Support Groups director and lead in preparing spaces for groups’ needs.
  • Organize and help maintain extra tables/chairs/cots and water jugs.
  • Prioritize participant safety by following emergency and safety protocols.
  • Display respectful and kind behavior with all participants and staff.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  • Communicate maintenance needs when observed during set up/take down.
  • Promote safety, hygiene, and health by adhering to and enforcing established protocols.
  • Accurately submit reports, including incidents, health logs, and timecards, on time.
  • Discuss weekly schedule with Groups director and lead.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA, ACA, and applicable to local, state, and federal standards.
