Job Summary Group Therapist provides inpatient functional assessments to patients across the lifespan range and facilitates individual and group clinical programming utilizing an evidenced-based practice framework in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Conducts a functional assessment in relation to the patient's reason for admission to support making recommendations of group topics, general safety, milieu engagement, and transition planning Follows treatments plans, organizes and implements individual and group treatment activities using a variety of best practice creative therapy techniques and interventions in alignments with the multidisciplinary treatment team plan. Provides enhanced individual support (1 on 1) to patients identified by the clinical team under the guidance of the department supervisor, facilitates creative group therapy sessions. Maintains timely patient-centered documentation that reflects the patient and client systems' pertinent information for assessment, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory licensing requirements and third-party agencies Complete psychoeducational and recreational groups Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to determine the appropriate creative therapy services for individual patients (art, music, group, etc.) Assists licensed Group Therapists and department supervisor for ongoing development of clinical skills and guidance in approaching treatment methodology with intention of achieving full independent clinical licensure

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, or creative therapy field.
  • Computer proficient
  • Ability to assess problems, determine solutions and make decisions within a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships within and outside their entity
  • Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patient needs.
  • Develops and maintains cultural competence with an understanding of the history, traditions, values, and family systems of client groups as relates to health care and decision-making.
  • Displays sensitivity to and awareness of the diversity in cultural groups and integrates this knowledge into their practice.
