About The Position

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a dynamic Sales Executive who brings strong leadership and revenue-focused hotel experience and is interested in joining an industry leading company. Based in Richmond, Virginia you will engage in working with a team of sales associates responsibly for account development and revenue generation. If you are goal oriented, energetic, have previous hotel sales experience, then we offer the perfect environment for you to succeed. Purpose of this position is to develop the assigned Group Market Segment concentrating on the solicitation of new profitable business and maintaining potential repeat business. To merchandise the guest rooms and function space to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible meeting experience. To achieve monthly room revenue goals, 5-10-15 solicitation goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing. To fully engage in all sales processes, all sales and catering disciplines; to cultivate, close, distribute and detail as needed in order to achieve revenue goals and to support the functions of the sales office.

Requirements

  • Three years or more related experience in a hospitality sales environment, preferably hotels.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must have experience in customer service, developing new business, site inspections, and maintaining positive, professional client relationships.
  • Must have knowledge of current relevant computer software programs and equipment (Microsoft Office products; Delphi knowledge preferred).
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and holidays when needed

Responsibilities

  • Develop, actively solicit and maintain existing and new group accounts in defined territory.
  • Promote high visibility of the hotel through active involvement in community and industry organizations and networking events.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Present proposals and negotiate contracts, insuring that all aspects of solicitation and closing are documented and complete.
  • Identify, qualify and solicit potential business opportunities through telemarketing, tradeshows, customer visits, presentations and other sales initiatives.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales production goals, targets and initiatives.
  • Contribute to Sales Team’s focus on a proactive solicitation environment.
  • Assist Director of Sales in implementing strategies / action plans to generate and accurately forecast group revenues for the hotel.
  • Follow all Group Sales and Hotel standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Properly convey pricing information within approved limits to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Perform in a manner that demonstrates the philosophies of the Omni Hotels and Resorts culture and professionalism at every opportunity.
  • Promote all Omni properties and offer information to clients to cross sell the brand and affiliates.
  • Work closely with all departments such as Convention Services and Reservation Sales to ensure that all details are communicated to ensure a successful meeting experience.
  • Perform other tasks as needed or directed to ensure effective hotel operations.
