About The Position

The individual that fills the Sales Manager role is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, total account management ensuring clients are well cared for, conduct site inspections, presentation and public speaking fort, solicits and generates business with proactive outreach goals. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports in the Hyatt proprietary systems, travel as needed to attend events and conduct outside sales calls, and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate. The Sales Manager will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings as requested. The Sales Manager works as a team member with the sales and catering staff to in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff. At times the Sales and Events Team supports the Operation Teams in high volume moments through the lobby ambassador program or in other areas where all hands-on deck is needed, all in support of achieving our property customer service score goals and delivering memorable experiences for our clients. The ideal candidate is a resilient problem-solver and collaborative team player who brings positive energy, adaptability, and a “can-do” spirit to every interaction. Previous hotel sales experience with proven success in generating and managing group business is strongly preferred, along with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in generating and managing group business
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training preferred
  • Selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training preferred
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Resilient problem-solver who remains composed when navigating challenging client situations
  • Collaborative team player who brings positive energy, adaptability, and a “can-do” spirit to every interaction
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Receptive to feedback with a willingness to learn and commit toward continuous improvement
