Job Description We are seeking a dynamic, people-oriented leader for our employee engagement efforts and to assist with building upon our current client base. What You’ll Do As a Group Manager/Senior Scientist in our Investigation and Remediation practice group, you will work with clients to complete their projects on time and on budget, while exceeding expectations. You will contribute to the firm’s success by:

Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of direct environmental experience commensurate with the described duties of the position.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of environmental and regulatory programs and processes as they apply to industrial, energy, and commercial clients.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong desire to help build and grow a client base through supporting diverse business development initiatives.
  • Detail oriented leader that can quickly manage and organize situations as they arise.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Being a team player: Collaborating closely with other members of the firm, listening to clients’ needs, and developing solutions to meet those needs.
  • Lead with energy: Inspire and guide project teams, keeping momentum high and ensuring smooth execution—even when challenges arise.
  • Driving Performance: Tracking project performance, profitability, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure project excellence.
  • Mentor and manage: Lead, motivate, and oversee the local team, manage team workload, provide coaching and feedback, track group performance, and support staff development while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Growing the business: Building relationships with clients, vendors, and partners through excellent project work with some business development pursuits.
  • Delivering technical excellence: Contribute to complex environmental projects, including: o Due diligence projects including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs); o Knowledge of TCEQ (TRRP, LPST, VCP, etc), TX RRC, and EPA regulations and Standards; o Designing, conducting and/or overseeing site investigations including soil, soil vapor, and groundwater contaminant investigations; o Remedial action planning and oversight; o Proposal development, cost estimates, and reporting; and o Data evaluation and report preparation
