Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line. As the Group Manager, Global Commodity Management, you will lead the sourcing and commercial management of key storage products (SSD, HDD) and suppliers critical to Google's internal and public cloud infrastructure. You will partner with the storage engineering teams to secure optimal commercial outcomes from the most important suppliers. You will be instrumental in enabling Google's most advanced platforms and programs. You will be responsible to include leading commodity strategies, managing agreements, conducting commercial analysis, and overseeing supplier relationships. You will facilitate supplier solutions that enable the innovative products designed by Google's engineers. You will maintain a high level of industry expertise and supplier/market conditions, and manage supplier performance in cost, quality, delivery, and technology alignment. You will also propose and implement supply chain improvements.
