Position Summary: The Group Manager of CAD Services leads a high-performing team of CAD designers and specialists, overseeing the delivery of comprehensive CAD support across the product development lifecycle. This role ensures seamless integration of CAD expertise into engineering, manufacturing, and quality processes, driving efficiency, innovation, and manufacturability in medical device design. The Group Manager will champion the adoption of best practices in PTC Creo Parametric, tolerance analysis, and GD&T, while fostering a collaborative environment that aligns with Globus Medical's mission to accelerate product innovation.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in CAD design and engineering, with at least 5 years in a medical device or regulated industry, including hands-on expertise in PTC Creo Parametric (version 8.0 or later), Windchill PDM, and Sigmetrix CETOL 6σ for 3D tolerance analysis.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing CAD or design teams, with proven ability to scale operations and deliver cross-functional support.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field; Master's or advanced certification in GD&T or project management preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), reverse engineering, 3D printing, and regulatory requirements for medical devices (e.g., ISO 13485).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in talent development, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in additional tools such as SolidWorks, JIRA for request tracking, and data analysis for performance metrics; ability to multi-task and prioritize in high-volume settings.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver with a passion for innovation and patient-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CAD designers, including performance management, resource allocation, and professional growth initiatives.
  • Oversee CAD Services operations, including education courses, asset management, reverse engineering, 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, and detailed drawing production to support design planning through sustaining phases.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams to prioritize requests, resolve CAD-related issues, and integrate services into project timelines.
  • Drive process improvements in CAD workflows, such as Windchill PDM management, family table creation, advanced assembly techniques, and batch file automation, to enhance productivity and reduce time-to-market.
  • Provide strategic guidance on GD&T standards, tolerance stack-up analysis, and manufacturability reviews, including conducting or overseeing training seminars and generating detailed reports.
  • Manage relationships with other internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Globus Medical standards and budgets.
  • Monitor team performance metrics, including error resolution rates, and contribution to project milestones, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Champion Globus Medical values by fostering teamwork, innovation, and customer focus in all CAD Services interactions.
