About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide support and assistance to the Distribution Center Supervisor by coordinating the workflow within an assigned department and ensuring that merchandise is processed and shipped in a safe, timely, accurate, and cost efficient manner. A Group Leader is required to assist Operations Clerks, Material Handlers and/or Merchandise Processors and must be able to perform the physical requirements of these positions as well as the physical requirements listed below. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Monitor production activities and, in conjunction with supervisor and/or manager, determine operational needs Reporting of production information related to the department Assign associates to specific job functions according to production needs Provide training & cross-training, in coordination with the Certified Training Lead (CTL), for new and existing employees Communicate information to department associates in an appropriate manner in the absence of the DC Supervisor Maintain an awareness of associates’ production, quality, safety, and behavior to provide feedback to the department Supervisor Resolve minor processing problems; notify and work with the Supervisor as needed Must be able to work in all departments performing various functions of the Group Leader position Be a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ (SME) on all department roles and tasks Reliable and consistent attendance PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: CONTINUOUS (67% TO 100%) Standing/Walking/Sitting FREQUENT (34% TO 66%) Forward reaching Climbing steps and/or vertical ladder Bilateral Hand Coordination OCCASIONAL (1% TO 33%) Lifting 1-50 lbs. 48” (chest height) Carrying 1-35 lbs. up to 50 ft. Overhead reaching ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for maintaining a clean/safe work environment Maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information Perform production duties in assigned department as needed Work safely Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: High school education or equivalent and six months previous Distribution Center experience or equivalent experience Ability to perform basic math skills accurately including addition, subtraction, and multiplication Must be able to fill out paperwork and forms neatly and accurately High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills; including verbal/written communication Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent and six months previous Distribution Center experience or equivalent experience
  • Ability to perform basic math skills accurately including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
  • Must be able to fill out paperwork and forms neatly and accurately
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills; including verbal/written communication
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
