About The Position

CLARK Material Handling Company, is a 100 year old company, and a global leader in the material handling and forklift industry. CLARK is seeking qualified candidates to join our team. The Quality Department Group Leader position will be responsible to oversee a team of employees in the quality department. However, could also be assigned to cover other areas in the manufacturing facility such as, production line, sub assembly, paint, shipping and receiving and or inventory functions. This position will assist the manager in the attainment of manufacturing and or quality goals; including, cost per unit and standards of quality; through the leadership and training of the manufacturing workforce according to standards of good manufacturing, quality, and warehouse practices. The group leader will program, test, calibrate, adjust, tune, and complete all quality checks on each truck coming off the assembly line and oversee the workforce assigned to these functions. The group leader should be able to perform all tasks in the work area to be able to fill in when a team member is absent. Will plan, perform, and coordinate all manufacturing and quality functions within a particular area or areas of assignment. Must be able to troubleshoot problems on forklift trucks during and after assembly and provide assistance to minimize delays, loss of production time, etc. Will also collaborate and support the supplier quality team as needed. This position could also provide training and collaboration to inspectors, assemblers, painters, welders, and other departments. Essential Functions: Responsible to oversee areas that they are assigned and complete the final inspections, quality checks, and adjustments on each unit being built on the assembly line. Ensure each unit matches the customer order and meets our quality expectations. Provide directions and support to assigned personnel in the attainment of production schedules; including, but not limited to: Responsible to create, track, and report various quality issues, actions, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. Training team members and co-workers in proper work procedures Communicate material and work schedules and other various information needed. Ensure equipment is properly maintained. Understand, support, and communicate quality goals. Identify, document, and correct quality issues that negatively affect production efficiency and customer satisfaction. Identify, document, and assist in correcting issues that negatively affect production schedule attainment. Identify performance and attendance issues of team members. Complete performance reviews on the team. Establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment that is compliance with all regulations. Lead team members in conducting daily required OSHA safety check of forklifts. Responsible for meeting all Safety and OSHA requirements & regulations. This position will require a lot of data analysis, and clerical tasks. Troubleshoot assembly issues and identify problems on lift trucks built on assembly line. Problems include electrical, material-related, construction, or assembly. Monitor areas to assure cleanliness, orderliness, and observe all CMHC environmental responsibilities. Advise and/or plan work instruction to maintain flow of production. Correct any production or quality issues and address the root cause for the assembly line. Monitor and order certain identified supplies. Fills in when team members are absent as needed. Assist manager to complete evaluations on team members. Responsible to complete special projects as assigned. 3. Support and help to enforce all company policies; including, safety housekeeping, environmental, financial, and reporting and discipline. 4. Ensure the production of a quality product at minimal cost. Additional Functions: Attend scheduled training classes. Participate as a team member in work, meetings, and other functions such as transferring information to others, improving working relationships with co-workers, contributing to team success. Support Company policies and demonstrate concern for the success of the business. Show effective concern for the quality of all output and the needs, concerns, and priorities of all customers, both internal and external. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing preferably in assembling forklifts or similar equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to resolve employee conflicts and foster good working relationships.
  • Efficient use of computers, Microsoft office, MIS, and ERP or warehouse management programs.
  • Must be able and willing to travel both internationally and domestically if needed,
  • Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in leadership in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
