About The Position
As Group HSE Director at Drax, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and providing subject matter expertise for all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities across the Drax Group. This position is crucial as it involves setting the Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy Frameworks and Standards tailored to the diverse generating technologies, businesses, and regions within Drax. You will ensure compliance with HSE regulations and standards, creating a robust governance capability to monitor performance and verify compliance across the Group. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing an HSE improvement strategy and refreshing the OneSafeDrax vision. You will manage group-wide HSE internal audits and develop suitable management system components to enhance oversight and governance of HSE risks throughout the company. Your leadership will set the overall direction for HSE performance, encompassing personal and workplace safety, process safety, and environmental performance. The position requires travel across all offices and sites as needed, reflecting the dynamic nature of the role and the importance of hands-on oversight in various locations. You will be joining a team that is not only focused on compliance but is also committed to making a tangible impact on the climate challenge, working towards a zero carbon, lower cost energy future.
