About The Position

The Group Fitness Instructor at VIVE Health & Fitness is responsible for teaching safe and effective fitness classes to members, maintaining educational standards, and ensuring a clean and safe fitness environment. The role requires a commitment to customer service and the ability to support members in achieving their fitness goals.

Requirements

• AA Degree preferred.
• 2 years Group Exercise experience preferred.
• Cycle, Yoga, and Pilates Mat experience are highly preferred.
• Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certificate.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and customer service skills.
• AED/CPR/First Aid Certified.
• Proof of citizenship or legal status.

Responsibilities

• Teach various forms of group fitness classes for general and active aging populations, such as Yoga, Pilates Mat, cardio and strength-based classes, Barre, core classes, and Zumba.
• Assist members in using safe and effective exercise form during their workouts.
• Support, teach, and encourage members to meet their fitness goals.
• Attend department meetings and continuing education classes to keep certifications current.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness environment.
• Conduct classes and activities.
• Perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading classes and assisting members.
• Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance.
• Work as a team with all other departments.
• Promote center services and activities.
• Assist with cleanliness and upkeep of group fitness equipment.
• Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting.
