About The Position

ComEd Recreational Center, in partnership with Global Legends, is seeking an energetic and skilled Fitness Instructor to lead engaging group fitness classes such as strength training, cardio, bootcamp, interval training, or Zumba. The instructor will foster a fun and safe workout environment while providing quality fitness programming to the community. This is a part-time, hourly role requiring, availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Current group fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, or equivalent) required
• CPR/AED certification (Red Cross or equivalent) required
• Previous experience teaching group fitness classes
• Ability to teach a range of formats (e.g., bootcamp, cardio, HIIT, Zumba)
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Motivational presence and ability to engage diverse groups
• Frequent movement, including standing, jumping, lifting, and demonstrating exercises
• Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly
• Endurance to teach high-intensity classes
• Reasonable accommodations provided as required by law.

Nice To Haves

• Dance experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled fitness classes in a professional and timely manner
• Deliver safe, effective, and fun workouts tailored to participant abilities
• Demonstrate exercises and explain proper form and technique
• Prepare class music, equipment, and handouts in advance
• Answer participant questions and provide fitness education
• Monitor participant safety and respond to incidents when needed
• Adhere to and enforce all facility and safety policies
• Provide feedback and report any issues to management
• Complete other job responsibility and duties as assigned
