About The Position

Glass Court is seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Fitness Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health and wellness, with a specialization in leading group classes such as Yoga, Pilates, and other fitness formats. You will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging group sessions that cater to participants of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, ensuring each member achieves their personal goals in a supportive community environment. Additionally, you will play an active role in marketing and promoting your classes to attract new members.

Requirements

  • Group Fitness Instructor certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA) and/or specialized certifications in Yoga (RYT) or Pilates preferred.
  • Proven experience leading group fitness classes with a diverse clientele.
  • Deep understanding of group exercise dynamics and specific techniques for Yoga, Pilates, or other specialized formats.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and manage a large group of people.
  • Up-to-date certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • High level of physical fitness and stamina to lead multiple back-to-back sessions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other gym staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Class Instruction: Lead high-energy, safe, and effective group fitness sessions, including Yoga, Pilates, and various other group formats.
  • Program Design: Develop diverse group exercise routines that accommodate different fitness levels and special requirements within a single class.
  • Coaching & Motivation: Provide clear guidance, motivation, and support to all participants, fostering an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Adaptability & Modifications: Offer progressions and regressions for exercises to ensure classes are suitable for everyone, including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
  • Safety & Supervision: Monitor participants during classes to ensure correct form and technique to prevent injuries.
  • Education: Share knowledge on proper movement, breathing techniques (for Yoga/Pilates), and overall wellness to support the members' fitness journeys.
  • Engagement: Create a welcoming environment that encourages community participation and long-term commitment to fitness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in group fitness, Yoga, and Pilates to offer high-quality instruction.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Implement strategies to attract new members to your classes, engaging through social media and local community events.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate attendance records and assist with the scheduling of group sessions.
