Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field; OR
  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma and two (2) years responsible employment history.
  • Employees may be required to apply for Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) credential.
  • Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Employees are required to maintain certifications and/or licenses possessed when hired and those gained while employed.
  • A Class E Driver’s License may be required.
  • Current certification in CPR/First Aid may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present educational materials to clients in an approved format.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment for learning and discussion.
  • Evaluate and communicate client participation in groups to Clinical Team members.
  • Document client attendance and participation levels, summarizing each facilitated group.
  • Observe and maintain standards in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
  • Document services in a timely manner using the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
  • Report any situations that may indicate an immediate threat to clients or staff to the supervisor instantly.
  • Ensure regular and consistent attendance for all scheduled duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
