About The Position

The iconic Hotel del Coronadoâ is looking for aâ Group Experience Sales Specialist to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever. Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining. In this role you will be responsible for promoting and selling elevated group recreation and team-building experiences that reflect the luxury and sophistication of our resort. The ideal candidate is a dynamic hospitality professional with 1-3 years of experience in recreation and/or group event coordination. They excel at crafting and selling premium recreation and team-building experiences, collaborating across departments to deliver seamless, high-touch guest events. Strong relationship-building, logistical planning, and presentation skills are essential to drive group revenue and elevate the resort's brand. Want to learn more? What will I be doing? As our Group Experience Sales Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting and selling elevated group recreation and team-building experiences that reflect the luxury and sophistication of our resort. This position combines proactive sales efforts with hands-on event coordination to ensure every guest experience exceeds expectations. You will work closely with the Sales, Events, and Recreation teams to create distinctive and memorable activities that strengthen guest connections and drive group revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively sell and promote group recreation and team-building experiences to corporate, incentive, and leisure clients
  • Conduct personalized site visits and presentations alongside the Sales and Events teams to showcase resort offerings and inspire group bookings
  • Cultivate strong relationships with meeting planners, travel partners, and group organizers to encourage repeat and referral business
  • Collaborate with the Recreation leadership team to develop and customize unique, premium group experiences that align with guest preferences and brand standards
  • Coordinate all logistics for recreation and team-building events, including staff training, inventory management and maintenance, and vendor billing, ensuring seamless execution and world-class service delivery
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Recreation, Sales, Catering, and Events departments to ensure flawless communication and planning
  • Support recreation event staff during group functions, providing guidance, direction, and on-site leadership
  • Collaborate with the Recreation leadership team to develop and manage premium guest experiences and activations, including but not limited to, fitness classes and kids activities
  • Assist with departmental reporting, including booking activity, forecasting, and revenue tracking
  • All other duties as assigned
