Group Exercise Instructor
About The Position
The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for instructing specialty group exercise classes for faculty, staff, students, and members of the Saint Leo University Fitness Center while providing excellent customer service in keeping with Saint Leo's Benedictine values. This role involves actively participating in the development and implementation of safe, effective, and enjoyable fitness routines, ensuring the safe and proper use of all equipment, and performing administrative duties such as tracking client sessions. If an instructor does not possess a certification from NASM, NSCA, AFAA, or AE, they will be expected to actively attend study sessions to prepare for an ACE personal training certification examination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Certified in CPR/First Aid & Safety
- Knowledge of specific exercise area
- Ability to coach acrobatic and tumbling techniques and safety guidelines
- Ability to work a non-standard work week which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work independently, as well as within a team-oriented work group

- Certification from NASM, NSCA, AFAA, or AE
