The group exercise instructor is responsible for leading and instructing the various group exercises classes offered to the users and guests of the facility. An NCCA accredited certification in group exercise and AED/CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire date. At least 6 months of group exercise teaching experience is preferred. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides users with an entertaining, effective, and safe group exercise experience whenever they participate in a class. Provides support in properly maintaining the group exercise classroom including alerting the group fitness coordinator of improperly working equipment and ensuring that all equipment is cleaned after each class. Promotes interactivity between users during the class. Comes to class at 10 minutes early to prepare for providing an entertaining, safe and effective group exercise class. Promotes the facility's services to users and guests. Responsible for communicating with individuals during class in a way that is positive and constructive to ensure safe performance and maximum benefit from each exercise. Obtains accurate sign-in sheets for each class and submits to the group exercise coordinator before leaving. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
