About The Position
The YMCA is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and reliable Zumba Instructor to lead engaging, high-energy group fitness classes. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where participants of all fitness levels feel motivated, supported, and inspired to reach their health and wellness goals.
Requirements
- Current Zumba Instructor certification (required)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
- Previous group fitness instruction experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate participants in a group setting
Nice To Haves
- Group Exercise certification from a nationally recognized organization (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Lead safe, effective, and fun Zumba classes for members of varying fitness levels
- Provide clear instruction, demonstration, and modifications to accommodate all participants
- Create a positive and inclusive class environment that aligns with YMCA values
- Arrive prepared with planned routines and appropriate music
- Ensure proper use of equipment and maintain a clean, safe studio space
- Build relationships with members and encourage participation and retention
- Promote YMCA programs, events, and membership opportunities
- Maintain current certifications and adhere to YMCA policies and procedures
