About The Position

The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for delivering a world-class group fitness experience grounded in teamwork and outstanding customer service to our members, guests, company, and community. This role reports to the Group Fitness Manager (GFM) and involves a commitment to the company's mission, vision, and service standards while ensuring member growth, retention, and club profitability.

Requirements

  • AFAA or ACE Primary Group Exercise Certification.
  • AFF-approved specialty certification(s) for active formats (e.g., MOSSA, Zumba, Spinning, RYT200).
  • CPR and AED Certification.
  • Proficient oral, written, and technology communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Get & Keep Members.
  • Perform duties according to the company's Mission, Vision, Pillars of Success, Service Standards, and Business philosophy.
  • Provide the highest quality of customer service to all members by greeting them with a welcoming, friendly, energetic, and positive attitude.
  • Embrace and follow the company Service Standards and guidelines outlined in the AFF Training and Policy Manuals.
  • Know the club's emergency response protocol and be prepared to act.
  • Arrive to work 10 minutes early and wear department-specific uniform.
  • Actively participate in all department and club meetings.
  • Be a team player by contributing to both club and organizational goals.
  • Maintain open and honest communication with the team.
  • Align with company and industry guidelines for safe and effective group fitness classes.
  • Stay active and current with AFF-approved certifications.
  • Participate actively in AFF-recommended education, workshops, trainings, events, and meetings.
  • Arrive to class 10 minutes early, help set up, and provide thorough class introductions.
  • Begin and end classes on time and follow the scheduled formats as defined by the Group Fitness Director.
  • Motivate members and the team to achieve their fitness goals.
  • Complete all administrative work completely and on time.
  • Respond within 24 hours to all time-sensitive requests from team leaders and fellow instructors.
  • Follow department procedures for finding qualified substitutions.
  • Inform the GFM of any equipment needs or malfunctions.
  • Wear appropriate attire to present a positive, professional image.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
