The Automation Group Editorial Director sets editorial strategy for Automation World, Control Design and Control, managing efforts to drive growth across all three brands while keeping each brand distinct from one another. The director will work with content leaders for the three brands to set high editorial standards for the publications and mentor and direct their staff to achieve those goals. The director will be the primary audience advocate when working with advertising, audience development and other internal departments at Endeavor B2B. Externally, the content director will strive to be a leading voice in their markets through editorials, articles, videos, podcasts, social media and live or digital events.

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with editors at Control Design, Control and Automation World to plan content.
  • Maintain clear brand goals and niche definitions for the three brands, focused on growing each one through a focused approach to each audience.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide teamof reporters, staff writers, and content strategists to publish high-quality, high-impact content across multiple media.
  • Actively monitor key metrics and regularly adjust editorial tactics to account for the trends they report.
  • Maintain clear divisions in workload and focus to prevent distraction and burnout.
  • Raise the profile of the brand and its staff by publishing and promoting industry-leading content.
  • Speak at live and digital conferences and events in your industry.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, marketing solutions, and audience development teams to ensure alignment and brand success.
  • Publish the best news and original content in your industry.
