As the Group Director, Retail Strategy & Operations, you’ll lead the charge in making sure our tools—like Walmart Volt, Scintilla Charter, Mod Intel, and future innovations—deliver real value in stores and drive measurable outcomes for Walmart and our suppliers and third party partners. What you’ll do: Lead a powerful product portfolio Set and execute the enterprise vision, adoption, and ROI for all retail-facing Data Ventures tools, ensuring alignment with company-wide strategic priorities. Translate complex business challenges from stores, merchandising, and supply chain into scalable, innovative business solutions that deliver enterprise-wide value such as labor optimization, sales acceleration, and compliance improvements. Develop and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of learning, entrepreneurship, innovation, and inclusion that supports Walmart’s talent pipeline and succession planning. Cultivate High-Impact Partnerships Build and evolve strategic partnerships with third-party vendors, suppliers, and key internal stakeholders, serving as Data Venture’s champion on retail-facing solutions. Bring to life cross functional partnerships by engaging with and gaining buy in with executive leadership across the organization. Collaborate with Strategy, Account Management, Business Development, Operations, Rev Ops and Product teams to ensure alignment and accountability for execution within Data Ventures. Reinforce Walmart’s priorities around safety, compliance, and efficiency Align execution across teams Provide strategic direction and oversight for the development, prioritization, and governance of key product initiatives, ensuring investments and resources are aligned with Walmart’s long-term business objectives. Drive adoption and usage of Data Ventures retail tools to support store objectives such as badge lifecycle management and compliance, who’s in the stores, and management of next best actions driving ROI for stakeholders Ensure execution supports merchandising and store priorities Turn business needs into product impact Working across Walmart, supplier and third party teams, Identify, build business case, and prioritize enterprise-wide impacting opportunities by gathering insights from a broad range of stakeholders and translating them into actionable, high-impact product enhancements. Foster collaborative relationships within Walmart stakeholder groups to enable speed and agility from concept to POC of business concepts Able to deliver a story and persuade an executive audience with well thought out presentation identifying the problem and right to win for business cases Work with product teams toward scalable features that meet supplier, third party and Walmart needs Drive value creation and monetization Define premium functionality that drives supplier investment and a Walmart competitive advantage Build ROI stories that position DV tools as essential to supplier and third party success Help Walmart grow operating income through smarter retail solutions You’ll thrive in this role if you: Have experience in retail strategy, store operations or retail transformation Deep understanding and experience in Scintilla and data analytics on store level use cases across Walmart, suppliers and third parties, but can also bridge the gap bringing supplier brand and merchant strategies to where the rubber meets the road Experience with selling, servicing and supporting commercial business models for data and SaaS Know how to balance stakeholder needs and drive cross-functional alignment Are passionate about turning data into action—and action into impact Fit into an entrepreneurial culture that thrives on agility and accountability for delivering results
