About The Position

This highly visible leadership role will define and scale Walmart Connect’s Emerging Sales Team. As Group Director, you will architect the long term strategy, build the operating model, and lead multi disciplinary teams to unlock substantial revenue growth across Walmart’s fastest emerging advertiser segments. In partnership with teams, such as Marketplace, Merchandising, Product, Ad Sales, and Marketing you will shape the future of how Walmart Connect serves the next generation of advertisers. What you'll do... What you’ll lead: As Group Director, you will: Build and scale the Emerging Sales organization, setting the multi‑year vision, operating model, and KPIs for the business. Lead leaders, leading people leaders in Senior Director and Director roles and developing a broad leadership bench across sales in the US and China. Drive enterprise-wide capability building, partnering across Walmart Connect and Walmart U.S. to establish the foundational sales & marketing systems, ad products, and Marketplace dynamics to support hypergrowth. Own the go-to-market strategy, guiding how we engage, educate, and convert medium and small suppliers and marketplace sellers into long‑term Walmart Connect advertisers. Ensure cross-functional alignment, partnering with Marketplace, WMC Sales, Product, and Marketing to ensure scalable commercialization of digital advertising solutions. What you’ll do: Strategic Leadership & Business Ownership Set the strategic vision, annual operating plan, long-range plan, and revenue growth targets for the Emerging Sales business. Lead annual and multi‑year planning, including forecasting, resourcing, territory design, and resource allocation. Identify market opportunities, define commercial strategy, and pilot new GTM motions to accelerate penetration of the torso/tail advertiser segments. Evolve business strategy based on performance trends, market signals, competitive intelligence, and partner feedback. Team Leadership & Talent Development Build, lead, and mentor a large organization in the US and China Create a performance‑driven culture that develops rising sales talent and produces future leaders for Walmart Connect. Establish leadership standards, coaching models, and accountability mechanisms across the team. Operational Excellence Design and implement enterprise-grade operating mechanisms, including pipeline management, quota frameworks, and forecasting rigor. Partner with cross-functional partners to build automated systems, self‑service tools, and workflow improvements that enable scale. Develop the sales playbook and scalable mechanisms to ensure consistent execution across expanding teams. Execution & Revenue Growth Own end‑to‑end sales execution: prospecting strategy, pitch frameworks, closing motions, onboarding pathways, and advertiser success outcomes. Deliver against aggressive revenue targets through new advertiser acquisition and ongoing growth of existing advertisers. Leverage data, customer insights, testing, and performance analytics to refine strategy and maximize ROI. Enterprise Collaboration Influence cross-functional partners (Marketplace, Product, Marketing, WMC Sales, Marketing, and Finance) to secure alignment and resources needed for scale. Build trust and collaboration across Walmart Connect, Walmart U.S., and International Executive Leadership to ensure broad sponsorship of the Emerging Sales engine. Requirements

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing and sales, or related area and 7 years' experience in business, marketing and sales, or related area.
  • Option 2: 9 years' experience in business, marketing and sales, or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years in Sales, Business Development, or Digital Advertising leadership roles.
  • 5+ years leading people managers and proven success developing and scaling large teams in high‑growth environments.
  • Experience owning 9‑figure revenue portfolios with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrated success building a business or sales organization from the ground up.
  • Expertise influencing product, retail, marketing, and operations teams at scale.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
