About The Position

Sam’s Club is accelerating the future of the Member experience — and we’re looking for a transformational leader who can turn complex signals into bold strategic action. As the Group Director of Experience Insights & Transformation, you will guide the enterprise in understanding the Member journey, shaping predictive strategies, and investing where the next 100 clubs will grow. You’ll connect data science, business strategy, and marketing into one cohesive vision that drives multi-channel engagement, informs P&L decisions, and elevates the Member experience at scale. This role is ideal for someone who is incredibly smart, fast-learning, and able to translate complexity into clarity — a leader who can go head-to-head with top data scientists, influence officers, and turn insights into enterprise-wide transformation.

Requirements

  • A transformation mindset and proven ability to turn disconnected data, insights, and business realities into an integrated, future-oriented strategy.
  • Exceptional data science literacy — strong enough to challenge and guide senior data scientists while still translating complex concepts into clear business actions.
  • The ability to be flexible as a business leader, data scientist, and marketing strategist with a Member first mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience developing predictive models, segmentation frameworks, and analytical systems that influence enterprise decisions.
  • A strong grasp of multi-channel Member journey analytics , digital platforms, and operational levers that drive engagement and growth.
  • Deep experience leading cross-functional efforts and influencing senior executives across large, complex organizations.
  • A track record of building teams, mentoring talent, and shaping high-performance cultures.
  • A passion for connecting insights to real-world outcomes — defining the metrics, comparing scenarios, and making bold, evidence-based decisions.
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 8 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 3: 10 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
  • 4 years' supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set the enterprise roadmap by converting cross-functional insights into predictive strategies that shape Member experience, operational decisions, and marketing campaigns,.
  • Lead multidimensional data science and analytics , overseeing the models, algorithms, tools, and data governance structures that power strategic decisions across Membership, Marketing, E2E, and MAP (Membership Access Platform).
  • Drive multi-channel engagement through advanced personalization, A/B testing, and data exploration — ensuring insights lead directly to profitable outcomes and measurable P&L impact.
  • Prototype, test, and scale new approaches (NLP, ML, advanced modeling) that push the organization forward and modernize how Sam’s Club learns from data.
  • Build and align cross-functional partnerships , ensuring insights influence officers’ meetings, MSM, Trading, Board reviews, and enterprise priority settings.
  • Lead transformation initiatives that close operational gaps, identify new growth opportunities, and inform strategic resource allocation.
  • Develop and mentor a high-caliber analytics and insights team , elevating technical capabilities while fostering a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Serve as an enterprise thought leader , advocating for the Member and ensuring all analytics functions stay aligned to strategic business priorities.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $195,000.00 - $370,000.00
  • Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
  • Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
