About The Position

CH Insurance, an independent insurance agency, is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Group Benefits Specialist. This role is responsible for providing exceptional service to employer clients by assisting with benefit plan administration, employee enrollments, renewals, and ongoing support for health and ancillary benefit programs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely service to our clients. Requirements

  • 1-3+ years’ experience in customer service within an insurance agency required.
  • NYS Accident & Health license required.
  • Familiarity with working with Excellus, UHC, Arch, Shelterpoint and other carriers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong time management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employer clients regarding employee benefit plans.
  • Assist employers and their employees with questions related to health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
  • Process new enrollments, changes, and terminations for group benefit plans.
  • Support annual open enrollment and renewal processes for employer groups.
  • Maintain accurate records of client communications, eligibility changes, and benefit elections.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve claims issues, eligibility concerns, and policy questions.
  • Prepare and distribute benefit materials, plan summaries, and enrollment information to clients.
  • Educate employer clients on plan features, coverage options, and benefit procedures.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with carrier requirements and internal procedures.
  • Work closely with account managers, producers, and carriers to ensure high-quality client service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
