About The Position
The Groundworker position at Wright Tree Service is a full-time, non-exempt role that involves various essential functions related to tree maintenance and debris management. The role requires the use of chainsaws to cut brush, logs, and stumps, and involves loading and unloading trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris. The Groundworker will work from the ground using gasoline-powered chainsaws and will be responsible for gathering brush and carrying it to the chipper area. The position requires working around hazardous equipment and excessive noise, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment. The Groundworker will also be exposed to various weather conditions and nature, including irritating plants and insects, and may work on rough terrain. Safety practices must be enforced, and cooperation with local authorities is required when blocking streets or driveways. The role includes setting up barriers and warning signs to protect both employees and the public, performing tree and bucket rescues, applying herbicides, and maintaining equipment in good order.
