About The Position

Maintains and cares for the campus grounds. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $19.92 - $24.40 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma helpful. Vocational background preferable.
• Must have knowledge of proper use of equipment.
• Some knowledge of horticulture, turf care, equipment, and landscape maintenance.
• Driver's license, clean driving record, and good driving skills required.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills required; ability to work in a team environment or independently as required.
• 1-2 years experience in lawn and landscape maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment for summer and winter grounds maintenance
• Removes litter and debris from campus grounds.
• Plants, waters, weeds, prunes and mulches flower beds and shrub and tree beds.
• Sets up grounds for commencement and other major college events
• Prepares athletic fields for games, including marking fields and equipment setup.
• Aerates, overseeds, weeds, fertilizes, mows, rakes and maintains turf areas.
• Assists in snow removal from steps, roads and walkways as assigned.
• Performs preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
• Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
• Performs associated facilities service maintenance work as requested, including, but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting.
