About The Position

This position is responsible for the care of the lawns, tree, shrubs and flower throughout the university.

Summer Temporary operations: May 11th- August 23rd, 2026.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess Driver’s License.
• Ability to work outdoors in weather conditions.
• Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• The care of lawns, trees, shrubs and flowers; knowledge of tools and methods of grounds maintenance; ability to operate tractors, riding mowers, hand mowers and line trimmers; willingness to work overtime and holidays; Integrity and dependability and an ability to work well with others.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
• Ability and willingness to contribute actively to the mission of the University and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University. Responsibilities

• Cut grass, trim and edge around walks and flower beds, prune shrubs.
• Spray insecticide and fertilizers.
• Rake or sweep grass, leaves, litter and remove same.
• Make minor repairs.
• Load and unload trucks, move furniture, and drive vehicles.
• Perform related work as needed.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
