About The Position

The Landscaper/Groundskeeper at The Village at Germantown is responsible for the daily maintenance of the campus grounds under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager. This role involves applying chemicals and fertilizers, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safety during inclement weather. The position requires a genuine interest in geriatric care and adherence to the organization's philosophy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 to 3 years of hands-on lawn care experience.
• Knowledge of appropriate lawn care and ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Strong positive attitude towards customer service.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Application of standard household chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides while following safety guidelines and using appropriate PPE.
• Plant new decorative bushes, flowers, plants, and shrubs under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness of the building and campus exterior, executing preventative maintenance tasks associated with grounds and equipment.
• Pick up and remove trash, debris, and animal waste from grounds daily.
• Remove snow and keep outdoor areas safe during inclement weather, including spreading de-icer on walkways and steps.
• Contact maintenance technicians or managers for tasks that cannot be performed alone or require outside services.
• Uphold the philosophy of The Village at Germantown and show a genuine interest in geriatric care.
• Perform miscellaneous and special duties as assigned.
