About The Position

The Grounds Keeper position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the grounds outside the building. This includes regular cleaning of the area, ensuring that fuel islands are kept clean, and managing waste disposal. The Grounds Keeper will also perform minor repairs on fuel pumps, wash gas and diesel islands, and maintain well houses and storage sheds. Seasonal responsibilities include snow removal and checking backup generators. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work independently while following safety protocols and reporting any issues to the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to walk extensively and climb stairs.
• Ability to stand and exert mobility for up to four hours.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry items 10 to 20 feet.
• Ability to stoop and bend as necessary.
• Ability to work in wet conditions and with cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Clear communication skills in both written and oral forms.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent and regular cleaning of the grounds outside the building.
• Empty garbage at fuel islands multiple times per shift and keep fuel pumps clean.
• Maintain water buckets with cleaning solution and replace squeegees and paper towels as needed.
• Wash gas and diesel islands with Hotsy when weather permits and clean surrounding areas.
• Clean and maintain well houses, generators, and storage sheds, including reading water meters.
• Provide snow removal in winter months to ensure safe customer access.
• Check and maintain fuel levels in backup generators weekly.
• Replace receipt paper in printers on gas islands as needed.
• Maintain the overall appearance of Chevy trucks used for Grounds Keeping.
