About The Position

Groundskeeper 2025/2026 SY Millburn Township Public Schools Qualifications: 1. Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions. 2. Knowledge and ability to operate grounds equipment. 3. Minimum of five (5) years experience operating landscape machinery. 4. Holds a valid Motor Vehicle License. 5. Holds New Jersey State Fireman's License of at least black seal grade (or obtain within 2 years). 5. Ability to pass a physical examination. 6. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for three (3) or more hours at a time. 7. Meets NJ Residency requirements as per the "New Jersey First Act," N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70). Responsibilities: 1. Safely drives a truck with a trailer attached. 2. Cuts and edges grass using trucks and large mowing equipment. 3. Trims and maintains shrubbery and other plantings. 4. Plants trees, shrubs and other plantings. 5. Seeds, aerates, mulches, limes, waters, and weeds ground areas. 6. Makes repairs to fencing, backstops, curbing, paths, and other outdoor areas and apparatus. 7. Maintains athletic and physical education fields. 7. Performs leaf and snow removal activities. 8. Performs tasks assigned in off-season, which may include assignments as a custodian or maintenance helper. Under such circumstances, job description for that assignment prevails. 9. Makes basic repairs, parts replacement, and routine maintenance of Grounds equipment as needed. 10. Assumes such other related duties as may be assigned. Salary Range: $44,900 - $46,900/yr.
