Job Summary: Maintain areas according to the approved Landscaping Plan, which mainly comprises of mowing grass areas and support of the maintenance and cleanliness of Xanterra’s operations at Mount Rushmore The Details: Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates: May 2026 - early October 2026 Pay: $16.25/hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Mount Rushmore National Memorial? Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a push lawn mower and weed eater.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
  • Able to read, understand and comply with all current company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all current related safety and health requirements.
  • Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor related work in an outside environment at elevations exceeding 5000 feet.
  • Must be able to work outside in varying temperatures, including high temperatures over 90 degrees F
  • Willing to “pitch-in” and help the team with tasks.
  • Must be a positive team player with flexible schedules who like to have fun and have the passion to work.
  • Constantly walking, reach outward, lift/carry 10-20 pounds, and push/pull 12-40 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, handling, bend, and lifting/carrying 21-50 pounds.
  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulder, climbing, crawling, squatting/kneeling, lifting/carrying 51-100 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 41-100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and use a manual push mower to cut the grasses in designated areas.
  • Operate weed eater and leaf blower to remove grass, leaves, bugs, cobwebs, etc. from sidewalks, driveways, and public areas.
  • Remove grass or weeds growing in planter boxes, sidewalk and other specified areas, complying with NPS regulations and Xanterra policies.
  • Pick up and properly dispose of litter, cigarette butts, trash, and tree debris.
  • May assist with other tasks related to maintenance.
  • Follow Company and departmental environmental and safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
