About The Position

Performs all grounds operations and maintenance functions at Gethsemane Cemetery for the orderly burial of the dead as well as maintaining all grounds, buildings, equipment and irrigation systems.

A. Keeps the parish and the rectory grounds clean and attractive to enhance the image of
the facility and to provide a suitable environment for staff, parishioners, students, and
visitors.

Requirements

• Background Check and Drug test prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Maintenance and landscaping preferred.
• Heavy equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects and removes litter from the grounds on a daily basis.
• Maintains grounds performing functions such as mowing, watering, pruning, fertilizing, planting, and leaf removal.
• Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to hand and power equipment used in the performance of duties.
• Evaluates grounds and makes changes for their improvement.
• Provides direction to visitors.
• Prepares cemetery plots for burial and performs ground restoration tasks.
• Maintains records of equipment cost and usage.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
