About The Position

Groundskeeper – Maderas Golf Club Non-Exempt Job Summary: The Groundskeepers perform a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. They also perform semi-skilled ground construction, maintenance work, and caping tasks using power equipment and hand tools. Essential Functions: Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment. Rakes and maintains sand bunkers. Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing. Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material. Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up). Assists with golf course set-up procedures. Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris. Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.). Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Drive and maneuver golf carts safely. Maintain satisfactory attendance.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping, particularly in a golf course or park setting.
Must possess the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level necessary to safely and effectively perform the essential functions of the job, including following oral and written instructions, reading safety information, and completing required documentation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
Excellent time management skills.
Previous experience preferred.
On-the-job training offered.
