About The Position

Performs a variety of grounds keeping work in order to maintain the health and beautification of grounds at all El Paso locations; mows and edges grass, trims trees/shrubs, blows leaves and debris from sidewalks.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, stooping, squatting, and lifting. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) frequently.
No formal education required, And Six months experience performing grounds keeping work, Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Drivers License - current and valid

Responsibilities

Mows and weeds grass; edges lawns, sidewalks, and curbs.
Rakes, vacuums, and blows leaves and debris from sidewalks and parking lots.
Cuts-down trees; fills holes with dirt; trims trees and bushes; splits wood.
Plants flowers, shrubs, trees, etc.; moves flower beds; seeds new grass.
Collects and discards debris and trash from grounds.
Inspects grounds regularly to detect needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
Ensures water systems are properly operating at all facilities and sprinkler systems.
Assists in performing custodial and maintenance work as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
