About The Position

The Groundskeeper - Work Order Technician I is responsible for various grounds maintenance and repair functions relating to landscaping, operation of equipment, and installation, as well as the repair and replacement of equipment at various District sites. This role develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school stakeholders.

Requirements

• Valid Colorado Driver's License.
• High School or Equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds areas and playgrounds in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Identify and address safety issues and report hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to emergency grounds maintenance needs as requested.
• Perform various duties in the installation, repair, and maintenance of District irrigation systems.
• Provide snow removal on call with varying work shifts on short notice, including nights and weekends.
• Operate and maintain plow equipment, sanders, and District vehicles on District property.
• Operate a variety of complex equipment used in the maintenance and construction of designated grounds such as backhoes, tractors, rototillers, and large trucks.
• Complete daily work orders as assigned; post hours, work performed, and costs in the District work order system.
• Utilize equipment to prepare grounds areas for landscaping and construction including rough grading and finish grading.
• Perform welding needed for installation, repairing, and maintenance of signage, fencing, and playground equipment.
• Ensure all playground work order repair requests are performed on time and documented to District safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Lay out and stripe athletic fields in a timely manner, according to district specifications.
• Repair concrete and asphalt to ensure safety and prevent additional damage.
• Mow, edge, and trim all District sites to maintain a uniform, orderly appearance of sites.
