This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repairs, and landscaping tasks, while maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is responsible for building and grounds at the administrative complex office as well as ensures the overall upkeep at multiple sow complexes within a 60-mile radius of the administrative complex. Must be willing and able: Responsible for operating reel rains which are used to spread effluent onto the fields in conjunction with all policies, procedures established by the company and environmental regulatory agencies (state and federal). This position does require a valid driver’s license as this position will drive a company vehicle to different farms regularly. This position will need to operate landscaping equipment (mower, tractor, weed eater, chainsaw); this position will need to be able to pull and back bumper trailer; knowledge of diesel engine and pumps are preferred. Communication: Collaborating with other team members and supervisors to communicate any issues or concerns related to biosecurity and any environmental concerns. Training: Participating in training sessions to stay updated on best practices for biosecurity in the swine industry. Equipment Utilization: Ensuring that all equipment used for spreading effluent and groundskeeping is properly maintained and in good working condition. Improve environmental processes and biosecurity measures to enhance the overall health and safety of the swine herd. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Lift up to fifty (60) pounds without assistance and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance repeatedly with intermittent breaks; Standing on hard floors, bending, stooping and crouching some intermittently; Team members in the building and groundskeeper position will work: outdoors mainly, in hot/cold temperatures respectively; Ability to perform ground keeping duties including using landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers, hand tools, etc..; Ability to use and maintain air driver equipment like blow guns to assist in cleaning activities; Ability to use high pressure water hoses to wash down buildings, etc; Must wear required PPE ear protection; Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling; Ability follow all safety procedures. Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any porcine species; Maintain good housekeeping including service areas; Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing.
