The State of Wisconsin, Department of Military Affairs (DMA), Construction and Facility Management Office (CFMO), is seeking two Limited Term Employment (LTE) Groundskeepers. These positions are responsible for general grounds maintenance and upkeep at the Madison facilities and other Area 1 locations which includes Beloit, Janesville, Richland Center, and Prairie du Chien. As a Groundskeeper, you will be tasked with maintaining the lawn, sidewalks, and parking areas, ensuring that the exterior areas are clean and well-kept. This includes trimming trees and shrubs in the spring and fall, clearing fence lines and other areas of weeds and brush, and keeping the entire exterior area free of paper and debris. You will also be responsible for completing minor maintenance and repair activities on ground-related equipment, as well as performing all required preventative maintenance functions. Additionally, you will maintain an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment necessary to accomplish all job-related duties. Occasionally, you may be required to provide support for maintenance requirements at other DMA facilities. The position is located near Madison College and adjacent to the Dane County Regional Airport, providing easy access to major highways. The facility boasts a fantastic fitness center, an indoor pickleball court, and free on-site parking. The pay for this position is $16.18 per hour, and all applicants will be required to undergo a background clearance check to gain access to the installation. A valid driver's license is necessary for travel to various DMA locations throughout Wisconsin, and Limited Term Employees must be residents of Wisconsin. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and climb ladders. Previous or current military experience is not a requirement, and the Department of Military Affairs does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or during employment. All new employees are required to attend a New Employee Orientation course on the first business day of their first pay period.
