About The Position

Under the direction of a grounds supervisor or senior groundskeeper, maintain university hard surfaced and unplanted areas, establish and maintain planted areas.

Requirements

High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have completed a minimum of twenty-three (23) academic hours in landscape technology or a directly related field.
A minimum of two years groundskeeper/landscaping experience.
Ability to read directions for the use of fertilizers and related materials and written instructions.
Performs physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, digging, shoveling, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various grounds tasks.
Frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds of force to move and use supplies, landscaping materials, and grounds equipment.
Works with fertilizers and other substances that may produce strong and/or offensive odors and works in various conditions with extremes in heat and cold.
Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.
