About The Position

GROUNDSKEEPER II duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist in the coordination and supervision of subordinate Groundskeepers Perform landscaping, grounds maintenance and litter remova lfunctions necessary to maintain major municipal City and neighborhood parks, athletic areas, City building grounds, school facilities, roadways (including traffic control as needed) and related facilities Mark athletic fields Operate various types and sizes of lawn mowers, string trimmers, edging, pruning and trimming equipment Use common garden and hand tools Operate a variety of motor equipment Inventory management of tools and supplies Assist in construction, maintenance and repair of landscape, fencing, irrigation systems, playground equipment and park structures Our Commitment Work with the best - work for Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation! Responsibilities

Assist in the coordination and supervision of subordinate Groundskeepers
Perform landscaping, grounds maintenance and litter remova lfunctions necessary to maintain major municipal City and neighborhood parks, athletic areas, City building grounds, school facilities, roadways (including traffic control as needed) and related facilities
Mark athletic fields
Operate various types and sizes of lawn mowers, string trimmers, edging, pruning and trimming equipment
Use common garden and hand tools
Operate a variety of motor equipment
Inventory management of tools and supplies
Assist in construction, maintenance and repair of landscape, fencing, irrigation systems, playground equipment and park structures
