About The Position

The Groundskeeper Group I is responsible for maintaining the physical appearance of the University grounds, ensuring they are well-kept and aesthetically pleasing. This role involves various gardening tasks such as mowing, raking, planting, fertilizing, trimming, and watering, utilizing both hand and power tools typically used in gardening.

Requirements

• Knowledge of maintenance and operation of grounds equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, edges, and sweeps university lawns and grounds.
• Waters fields and grounds as directed.
• Performs tree and shrub maintenance including planting, trimming, and fertilizing.
• Ensures proper care of equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Collects trash and disposes of it in appropriate containers.
• Performs minor repairs of equipment.
• Assists with the set-up and tear-down of outdoor stages, tarps, tables, and chairs.
• Identifies maintenance or repair needs and reports them to appropriate personnel.
• Assists in special construction projects as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
