About The Position

Overview: Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Job Description Summary: Maintains a variety of spaces on the Hospital campus with an objective to provide a safe, clean, and pleasing environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements.
• Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
• Six months of job-related experience and some knowledge of grounds maintenance operations, required.

Nice To Haves

• Ohio Nurserymen Landscape Installer Certification, preferred.
• Certification from a trade program, preferred.
• Miscellaneous installation/repair certifications from vendors, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of landscape and groundskeeping tasks while observing pertinent safety regulations and policies.
• Operates and maintains power equipment such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and street sweepers.
• Removes litter and debris from grounds and empties trash receptacles.
• Maintains and repairs walkways, fences, and other outdoor structures.
• Reports for ice and snow removal and is accountable for clearing primary areas.
• Performs first level maintenance on gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Checks oil, lubricates, and makes minor repairs.
• Proactive in identifying problem areas in the landscape, recommending viable solutions and carrying out steps to resolve issues.
