About the position

The Landscaper position at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center involves maintaining and enhancing the outdoor spaces to create a healing and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include planting, pruning, and caring for trees, shrubs, and flowers, as well as ensuring lawns and walkways are well-maintained. The landscaper will collaborate with hospital administration to develop landscaping plans that align with health and safety standards while promoting sustainability. Attention to detail, knowledge of horticulture, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this role, as well as a commitment to enhancing the overall aesthetic and therapeutic value of the hospital grounds. As driving may be required, a valid driver's license is a requirement of the position. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist other Plant Operations divisions when requested by another Supervisor or Manager or Director.
  • Respond to landscaping requests and complete necessary maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Utilize appropriate communication and conflict resolution skills when responding to concerns from staff or patients.
  • Monitor tools and equipment, recognizing position-specific responsibilities.
  • Train those assisting regarding all position specific requirements.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and products being purchased are made of quality material and are purchased at the best cost possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, time management skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of horticulture.
  • Experience with landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Strong physical stamina for the demands of the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in landscaping or related fields preferred.
