About The Position

The Groundskeeper Crew Lead is responsible for leading a small groundskeeping staff, assisting with maintaining lawns, general landscaping, and ensures that roadways, parking lots, and walkways meet institution's groundskeeping standards, preform and/or lead moderately complex and priority ground maintenance. This position will also be responsible for performing snow/ice removal during winter months and assist Grounds Shop leadership as needed. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
  • At least two year of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related field
  • Valid Driver's License in good standings
  • Knowledge of basic groundskeeping, landscaping equipment
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive manual work
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and to prioritize assignments
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual work
  • Ability to do required lifting (up to 50 lbs)

Nice To Haves

  • At least three years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related field
  • Experience supervising or leading a team(s)
  • Knowledge of CMMS/Work Order system usage, mobile technology
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Programs including email and spreadsheets
