Summary Across our beautiful campus at Hoosier Village, the Grounds Technician performs a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the grounds and the related equipment. The grounds and related equipment will be maintained by performing the following duties:

Requirements

1-3 years experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance

Responsibilities

Performs mowing, trimming, weed control, and fertilizing of facility properties.
Plants trees, shrubs, flowers, grass seed, and pulls weeds in the gardens and flower beds.
Trims shrubs and trees. Removes dead ones as needed.
Waters grounds in dry season and as needed.
Sweeps walkways and shovels snow.
Cleans, scrapes, and paints such objects as fences, benches, concrete walls, etc.
Repairs, cleans, lubricates, and stores equipment, tools, and fixtures.
Cleans and maintains storage areas.
Participates in the preventive maintenance program as defined by the director of environmental services.
May be directed to supervise a work project to completion on outside grounds.
