About The Position

The Grounds Technician at Lonnie Poole Golf Course is responsible for maintaining the golf course's landscape and ensuring its upkeep. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid NC Driver's License required.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Working knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in golf course maintenance.
• Operational knowledge of equipment such as mowers and hand tools.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs. frequently and perform strenuous physical labor.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with golf maintenance, lawn care, or landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Assist in grounds keeping at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course including landscaping and sodding.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides on and around the course.
• Cut grass on fairways, roughs, fringes, and greens.
• Perform ornamental and turf pest control.
• Maintain the golf course's upkeep including sprinkler system maintenance, fencing, and tree trimming.
• Model the Division's mission and values, fostering a positive workplace.
• Understand and adhere to University policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
