This role is essential in supporting our core tree care operations, contributing directly to the overall productivity and efficiency of the team. You will work with the Grounds Crew in the safe operations of general tree care. A Plus Tree specializes in the planting, removal, pruning (trimming), and health of trees in urban areas. You must have a passion for safety and a desire to work in an exciting environment. We are looking for candidates who have the capacity to learn new skills, including the use of equipment large and small, and be willing to grow within the industry! The ideal candidate should be able to perform both General Tree Care (GTC) and Tree Health Care (THC) functions. Preference will be given to those with an applicator's license, or who are willing to obtain one within three months of employment. This role is based out of our Portland, Oregon yard.

Requirements

Passionate about tree work, service, and people
A team player who has a good attitude and keeps pace with the crew
Outdoor enthusiast! You will be working outdoors come rain or shine
Hard-working, reliable, honest, and able to report for work regularly and punctually
Qualify as "Ground Technician 1" with basic industry skills and knowledge within the first 6 months of employment required
Ability to lift 75 or more pounds.
Must be at least 18 years.

Nice To Haves

No experience is required, but previous experience as a tree grounds worker is a plus
Preference will be given to those with an applicator's license, or who are willing to obtain one within three months of employment.

Responsibilities

Show up on time to work fit for duty when you say you will
Maintains regular focus and is both physically and mentally present while on the clock
Can keep pace and work with the crew for the entirety of the work shift
Willing and able to learn and repeat the skills of the trade as they are taught
Works with a team while maintaining a good attitude and keeping pace with the crew
Works a full day with the crew and is willing and able to handle all tasks of tree care within their expertise and qualifications
All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
