The Grounds Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all grounds maintenance and landscape development services at Bryant University. This role includes managing the construction oversight, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of campus grounds, vehicles, and landscape equipment, as well as ensuring the removal of snow, litter, and trash. The manager supervises a team of unionized staff and is accountable for maintaining an efficient and attractive campus environment.

  • Manage budget for the entire grounds program, including purchasing, repair, and materials.
  • Complete weekly timekeeping process for all bargaining unit employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked.
  • Maintain and repair all grounds equipment and University-owned vehicles, including inspections and registrations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and supervise unionized employees to ensure a motivated workforce.
  • Care for, maintain, and improve campus roads, parking lots, and landscaping.
  • Coordinate and direct workflow for special projects, including relocating furniture and equipment and supporting university events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Horticulture degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
