About The Position

Responsible for performing ground maintenance services for Clay County buildings under supervision of the Clay County grounds maintenance supervisor. Services include mowing, weeding, edging, and blowing debris using gas powered and manual lawn care equipment.

Requirements

Must be able to pass a local background check.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to follow written and or oral instructions.
Ability to work effectively alone or with a team.
Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
Basic knowledge of lawn maintenance equipment operation and upkeep
Good customer service skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Previous Grounds Maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform ground maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor.
Safely, transport, operate, and secure grounds maintenance equipment for its intended purposes.
Work the hours and schedule as defined by the supervisor.
Provide outstanding customer service.
Operate gas powered mowing, edging, weeding, and blowing equipment as trained and directed by the supervisor.
Perform equipment safety checks prior to use.
Prepare the equipment for the next day’s use.
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of ground maintenance equipment as assigned by the supervisor.
Promote a positive relationship with the onsite customer.
Use personal protective equipment when performing job duties.
Maintain all safety standards as set forth in the agency safety manual and required by the supervisor.
Report Directly to the Clay County Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
Other duties as assigned.
This job has different activities during different seasons and at times you may be assigned duties which have not been clearly stated.
If for any reason, you do not complete any duty from your daily work schedule, you shall immediately notify your supervisor.
